A while ago I blogged about the launch of Butter London’s new Lippy range, which has finally hit the UK - and boy was it worth the wait! I treated myself to Trout Pout around er, five minutes after finding out they were available!
I was torn between the Trout Pout and Primrose Hill Picnic, but definitely made the right choice (plus I have lots of bright pinks!). My only concern about Trout Pout was that it might have a whitish cast, but it doesn’t at all; it’s a perfect pastel peachy coral and I adore it. These are the other shades available and British Beauty Blogger has swatches of all them all here.
These glosses are opaque, beautifully pigmented and have a lovely fine, not overtly sticky texture. They are glossy but not thick plastic glossy, a finer textured and very wearable gloss which fares well on the not-sticking-to-my-hair factor!
It adds colour and brightness to my face while retaining a softness and Trout Pout doesn’t make me look overly made up, so is lovely for day time. The gloss finish melts a little during wear, until it looks more like a moist lipstick.
I’m ok with this but thought I’d mention it anyway… the little tube is so stylish I’m quite happy to whip it out for a touch up!
I’m wearing it here with a soft, slightly smokey eye, using Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, lined with the same eyeshadow in Immortal Charcoal. I also have on Laura Mercier Crème Smooth foundation (Warm Ivory) and Benefit Hervana Blush. {The links lead to my reviews of these products}.
I included this little flash pic as it shows the glossy finish well.
I also have the matching Trout Pout nail polish *does happy dance* which I’ll share with you in this week’s Monday Mani!
Butter London Lippy is available in the UK from one of my favourite beauty havens, CutECOsmetics.co.uk for £14 each with free UK p&p - I think I’ll be back there soon for another shade!
What do you think - will you treat yourself to a Butter London Lippy?!
