I had a lovely girls’ day with my daughter today… we went to our favourite cafe, Avoca for lunch and pottered around the shops - me bargaining for makeup & clothes time between Disney & Hello Kitty stops.
Here is my little bird pottering among the trinkets in Avoca ~ and the cakes!
And here is what we bought (clockwise from top left)…
Tootsies Serious Summer prep officially begins now with this Scholl duo of Instant Hard Skin Remover and file. All foot treatments are currently buy one get one half price at Boots, so it was rude not to. I’ll do a separate DIY pedi post, but at first quick go I’m very impressed with these.
YSL Lips I finally got around to trying the YSL Glossy Lip Stain and wanted to show you how incredibly long lasting it is - this pic was taken after a couple of hours’ shopping, eating ice creams and kissing! This is no 12 Corail Fauve, which applies a gorgeously pinky toned coral but settles more of an orangey red. I’d have liked it to stay the original colour but it’s still lovely and a gorgeous finish. (I spritzed myself with the new Opium Vapeurs while at the counter and it’s beautiful, much softer and fresher than I’d expected - a million miles from the original and so wearable).
Girly stuff The three items on the right were for my little girl - pretty floral hair ties (one just might find its way into my drawer), a pretty rose cotton jersey sundress and a Hello Kitty ruffle edged sun top, all for less than a tenner at H&M!
Makeup I’ve wanted all three of these items for a while after hearing other beauty bloggers rave about them and finally treated myself to Maybelline’s Colour Tattoo eyeshadows in Permanent Taupe and Immortal Charcoal. I’ll review these properly when I’ve tried them for longer than a few hours (!!!) but so far I’m seriously in love. The Models Own Nail Art pen in white is a nudge towards a little more creativity. Not sure if it will make tomorrow’s, but keep an eye out for my future Monday Manis! I came *this close* to buying Max Factor’s Fantasy Fire & Models Own Indiana Ocean nailpolishes, but much as I love the colours I just don’t think they suit my skin tone. Most middle-end makeup (inc my purchases) are on 3 for 2 in Boots at the moment.
Clothes My new favourite top, a loose fine knit sweater from Warehouse with 3/4 sleeves - really comfy and easy to wear - a perfect between seasons item. It’s hip length & slightly longer at the back… sorry that this isn’t a great pic - I’m having a mare with my pics tonight and lots seem to have disappeared. Here it is on the Warehouse website if you’re interested. :)
So that was my day… how has your weekend been? Nic xx
