Of all this year’s Christmas beauty campaigns, I’m most in love with Dior Grand Bal - not necessarily the products (lovely as they are) but the whole presentation and romance behind it is just breath taking. The concept is based on a modern version of Dior Grand Balls, a major theme of Monsieur Dior’s life.
This promotional image is just sensationally beautiful - I love everything about it - and that despite the drama, the hot raspberry lips dominate.
The gold encased luxury Diorific lipsticks, £25, are my favourite part of the collection and come in six shades: Diorling, Victoire, Liz, Diva, Lady and Marilyn (above). The Night Golds palette, £40, includes five very wearable eyeshadow tones, ranging from champagne and pale golds through to bitter chocolate. Also available in Fairy Golds.
The belle of the collection, the Grand Bal Palette, £60, is based on dance cards held by 18th-century girls and includes a gold and platinum pearl eyeshadow duo, two lipglosses and a black liner. The glosses are sealed with their own lid to keep them immaculate and powder free… clever.
Diorific Vernis for nails, £20 comes in four shades. The little round bottles are almost ornamental. The full collection is available online at Escentual and Debenhams has 10% off beauty & fragrance on purchases of £40+ this week.
At this time of year I have to force myself to step away from the glitter & glamour and choose products that I’ll use all year around, which is why the lipstick and eyeshadow palette would be my Grand Bal picks. How about you?
