A few days late I know but I really want to get into the habit of doing these monthly favourite posts regularly. In October I’ve been mostly loving skincare in attempt to keep my skin moisturised and protected from the cold.
Let’s jump straight in…
Lauren’s Way Self Tanning Bronzing Mousse… in Darker than Dark (in October, I know - shock horror!) lots of you have asked how I got on with this so a quick update with more to come. You’d expect this to be scarily dark, right? It’s not. Easy to apply, one coat is all that’s needed (the biggest selling point for me - I can’t be bothered faffing around with 3 coats of almost-there colour when one will do!) and it smells LUSH! That will do for now - I’ll be back with swatches etc. Ah ok I’ll include a quick one…
Inside of my arm, usually fluro at this time of year; very happy not to look ghostly at Halloween thanks to Lauren’s Way. LINK
Estelle & Thild Ecorganic Hand Cream with Neroli & Bergamot… more love for this gorgeous brand. After discussing the perils of cold dry hands with a few of the girls on twitter, I made a concerted effort to apply this 5 or 6 times a day, rather than my usual 1 or 2. It has made such a difference, thanks to shea butter, almond oil and vitamins. The best bit? It sinks in quickly and doesn’t make my hands sticky, so I can keep it on my desk, apply regularly and keep tap tapping away at my keyboard *demonstrates even though you can’t see.* LINK
Nuxe Crème Fraiche 24H Soothing & Rehydrating Fresh Mask… absolute shame on me for not including this in yesterday’s face mask post. It should have been in there as it’s an absolute beauty. Unlike many masks, it can be used in the eye contour as well as the face and is super soothing in a lovely more more more gently tingly kind of way. Beautiful. LINK
Mavala Base & Top Coats… these have really surprised me; despite a thin formula they work brilliantly, dry quickly and the top coat is ultra hardy. I have many top coats and these are most definitely in my top 3. LINK
Roger & Gallet Rose Imaginaire… soft, gentle, pretty feel good fragrance that doesn’t smell of roses, which is a good thing as I’m not a fan of rose scents! “A fusion of mara strawberry, jasmine and violet leaves beautifully complements deeper sensual notes of patchouli and wood.” Can be spritzed on liberally and I’ve been wearing this a lot most days as it makes me feel lovely! The pink ombre bottle is gorgeous too. LINK
Murad Skin Perfecting Primer… I use primer more in cold weather as my makeup seems to disappear faster. Despite being targeted at oily skins, this one works well on me and doesn’t dry out my skin. I mainly use it on my T zone anyway, as that’s the area where my makeup tends to disappear from. It’s lightly tinted for a hint of colour when worn alone and helps refine the appearance of pores. I’d probably go for the dewy finish for depths of winter, but have been surprised at how well this one works to date. LINK
Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream… I assumed this would be stashed away for Autumn/Winter, but it’s actually come into its own and I’ve been showing it a lot of love. It feels so gentle and nourishing on cold mornings and the light colour is better suited to my winter pallor. Full review & swatches here. ETA Just been told that Dr Jart is currently half price online only at Boots, making this just £9 whoop! LINK
Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Lipstick #31… the formula of these lipsticks is so incredible I must add more to my collection asap. Rich, creamy and pigmented this mauve toned pink lasts so well on my lips and is a lovely soft alternative to a berry lip. I got it in Sephora, Singapore last year… perhaps I’ll have to pop back for more (are you reading Linda?!)
Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil… can’t believe I haven’t mentioned this little beauty before now. On this occasion, I take back what I said about not liking rose scents as this one is exquisite and quite powerful, probably because it’s so pure and natural. This oil has an incredibly light quality and sinks into my skin almost as quickly as a moisturiser. My favourite time to apply it is at night, allowing it to work its wonders as I sleep - and the divine scent helps me drift off… waking up to super soft skin. Made with Bulgarian Damask Rose Otto, Organic Moroccan Argan Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil, it has hydrating, anti ageing and brightening properties. LINK
Neve Blushissimi Palette… not sure if I could rave about a product more so will try not to mention this for a while, but I’m genuinely adoring it, particularly the two shades to the right of this pic - a soft pink that leans coral and a nude pinky beige - both with a slight sheen. If you don’t fancy the whole palette (review & swatches here) you can order individual colours for just £3.95 each. LINK (scroll right down for refills)
