Bourjois has just launched a new collection of gorgeous Summer nails colours and 3D nail effects, including 1 Seconde Nail Enamels, Laser Toppings and Manucure coloured pearl toppings. I have the 1 Seconde Enamel in Turquoise Block and twinkly Laser Toppings in Blue Neon, Sun Scales and Aqua Purple to swatch for you.
I used Turquoise Block #22 as my base for all of these swatches… the first 1 Seconde Nail Enamel I’ve tried and I’m amazed at how easy it is to use. The broad brush is cut in a curve so that it literally sweeps the nail in one second, is opaque in one coat and dries in minutes - absolutely brilliant for last minute manis with a taxi beeping at the door (just me?). Other new colours in the 1 Seconde Enamel are In the Navy, Meli Melon (next on my list!) and Rouge Poppy.
Manucure Laser Toppings are dense ‘lightning fibres’ in a clear gel base - a great alternative to glitter that can be applied sparsely (just sweep most of them off the brush) for subtle sparkle or layered up in different directions for full on bling. I’ve used just two coats (one vertical, one horizontal) in this swatch, so as you can see, it doesn’t take much to build that density. This is Blue Neon - a mix of blue and purple ‘lasers’.
I’d personally use these for a single feature nail more often than on every finger - I’ve shown them here with just one coat for a more subtle effect.
Laser Toppings swatched:
- Sun Scales (pinkie and middle finger) - these gold and pale pink fibres are my favourite, not least because they’re by far the most twinkly of the three!
- Aqua Purple (middle finger) - a mix of fuchsia and purple fibres
- Blue Neon (thumb) - blue and purple fibres.
Wear time is good and removal is easier than expected - I found they came off quite easily using my beloved Bourjois One Seconde Remover. It seemed to dissolve the base, then the fibres just lifted off - no scratching a la glitter stylee.
