Clinique’s iconic moisturiser - one of the first I tried - has been given an upgrade. Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + (aka DDML+) contains a ‘strengthening complex’ and is designed to provide increased, all-day hydration. The brand has taken a brave but essential step in refining a formula that has served them well for 40 years, with a bottle selling every 4.8 seconds around the world (that’s actually nuts!).
The new formula contains an anti-pollution barrier-strengthening complex as well as moisturising hyaluronic acid, glycerine and urea. It’s been given the most thorough product testing I’ve ever come across: trialled on 600 women in five countries over six years, to be precise!
So what’s it like? Gillian - my bestie since uni days - has been testing it out for me. She knows the original inside out so I thought she’d be the best candidate. I remember the yellow bottle stashed under a pile of books on her desk back in the day, now more likely to be found on her car dashboard where she stores all her make-up. Yep, our habits could not be more different: I turn up late cos I’ve spent too much time applying make-up; she arrives early and applies hers in the car park.
Gillian’s verdict on DDML+ several weeks on: “I love it. It’s creamier than the original formula and makes my skin feel instantly hydrated. A definite improvement.”
Can’t ask much more than that really?
